Holidays in Mallorca with a rental car

Holidays in Mallorca can be planned in very different ways, whether focusing on a single city like Palma de Mallorca, or touring this charming island that has so many different landscapes, and so many towns, to the surprise and enjoyment of the tourists who visit it.

If you are now planning your next vacation and decide to visit this island, we are going to propose a tour lasting several days, although you can plan it according to your preferences, shortening it or lengthening your stay in each of the towns.

First day of the route: Palma de Mallorca

  • Upon arrival at Palma de Mallorca airport we can give you your rental car to use on your vacation.
  • We advise you to visit the Cathedral of Palma (La Seu) and the Royal Palace of Almudaina.
  • A practically mandatory walking tour is the one that will take you through the old town. You will also visit the Plaza Mayor.
  • As in the other cities of Mallorca, it is interesting to visit them day and night, so we recommend the nightlife on the Paseo Marítimo.

Second day: Serra de Tramuntana

  • You will begin your tour of Mallorca by heading west to the Serra de Tramuntana, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • We recommend a visit to Valldemossa, a charming town with cobblestone streets.
  • Continue towards Deià, another picturesque town nestled in the hills.
  • It would also be interesting for you to visit the Mirador Es Colomer to enjoy impressive views.

Third day: Northwest Coast

  • Heading north you can visit the Port of Sóller.
  • Here we do advise you to leave the car to use the historic Sóller train, you can also take a ride on the tram to the port.
  • Continue towards the Formentor Lighthouse, located at the northern end of the island.
  • Now, if the weather is good, it’s time to take a dip in the beaches of Formentor and Cala Figuera.

Fourth day: Center of the island

  • Take your car to head towards the center of Mallorca and visit the Sanctuary of Lluc.
  • A good idea would be to visit the town of Pollença. If you are in good physical shape you can climb the 365 steps to Calvary.
  • Next drive to Alcúdia, which has an interesting walled old town.

Fifth day: Southeast and East of Mallorca

  • In this place, tourists usually visit the Drach caves in Porto Cristo.
  • Once again, take the opportunity to discover the wonderful beaches of Mallorca, including the beaches of Cala Varques or Cala Mondragó.
  • Another town that you can visit is Santanyí.

Sixth day: Southeast and Return to Palma

  • Among the coves and beaches, another visit is Es Trenc beach.
  • In this area of the island we recommend a visit to Campos, a town with typical Mallorcan architecture.

We hope you enjoy your vacation.
